Given the time of the year, we’d love to help you navigate the overwhelming world of finding a gift for the home barista in your life. Or, perhaps something to keep for yourself? Before we kick things off, please know that all the entries in our gift guide below have been carefully curated, with nothing we wouldn’t consider for ourselves.

1-on-1 home barista online workshop

Hosted by yours truly, this workshop helps one better understand espresso making, adjust their technique to properly steam milk for latte art and ultimately, become a better home barista. I guarantee it’s fun, memorable and worthwhile! Don’t take my word for it only, please read through the testimonials I’ve kindly received from my participants so far.

My home barista online workshops are always customized to each one’s experience with espresso making, as well as their interest to learn and understand any aspect of it in particular. The duration of the workshop is 3 hours, which means sufficient time to answer all questions and practice in front of their very own home espresso machine, with real time feedback and guidance from my end. I’m happy to accommodate any time difference, which means my workshops are open to anyone around the world!

So, if you have a friend or family member enthusiastic about making espresso at home and you’d like to surprise them with a memorable experience, you could consider gifting them my 1-on-1 home barista online workshop. Accessories for home baristas

For an upgrade to a home espresso setup, our trusted partner Barista Essentials provide a wide range of high-quality and affordable accessories for the home baristas.

My first interaction with Barista Essentials was actually as their customer, back in 2021. That’s when I ordered one of their products, an espresso dosing ring, for myself. Since then we got to know each other better and developed a really good collaboration, with the work they do complementing Brewing With Dani so well. We particularly appreciate their responsiveness, as well as their focus on always improving and designing products with the home barista in mind.

All the Barista Essentials home barista equipment and accessories I’ve been mentioning regularly on my Instagram account have successfully withstood extensive testing and trials on my own home espresso machine. We’re happy to share that by using the coupon code HOMEBARISTA10 you’ll receive 10% off on your first order.

Entry-level home espresso machine

The Sage or Breville Barista Express would probably be the ultimate Xmas gift for anyone interested in beginning the journey of making espresso at home.

As I recently wrote in this blogpost, the Barista Express delivers great value at an affordable price point and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the espresso it can produce. The combination between its compact size and espresso making experience, as well as milk steaming capability, made its popularity skyrocket and for good reason.

Specialty coffee subscription box

For a home or even professional barista looking for an unique assortment of coffee beans from some of Europe’s best specialty coffee roasters, you might consider checking out The Coffeevine, a monthly specialty coffee subscription box.

I have to say, The Coffeevine is really special to me, because it’s closely linked to when I started working in specialty coffee, back in 2017. Since then, every single month, this box not only granted me the opportunity to treat myself and also share with friends some amazingly delicious cups of coffee, but it also facilitated the discovery of many talented and up-and-coming European specialty coffee roasters.

No matter if you’ll go for the monthly subscription or just a one-off coffee box, with the coupon code BREWINGWITHDANI you’ll receive 15% off on your first order.

A Cool Coffee Gadget

What at first may look like yet another nice-to-have gadget, the Ember cup will definitely become a favorite, either at home or the office. Simply put, this is a smart cup that will conveniently keep your coffee warm until the very last sip.

We’ve been enjoying the copper edition cup ourselves. In all honesty, call us old school, but we were quite skeptical at first. However, this one quickly won as over. Every single morning I brew a filter coffee and leave some aside for my wife Bianca to enjoy as well. Since she prefers having her coffee later in the morning, she’d always end up drink it cold. Well, not anymore!

If you’ll decide to go for it, by using the coupon code BREWINGWITHDANI15 you can get 15% off on the Ember cup copper edition. Please note though that this coupon code is only valid for those of you located in the US. We hope to soon be able to offer it worldwide and in the meantime we thank you for your understanding.

And a few more gift ideas for coffee people

On top of the above, we thought of mentioning a few more miscellaneous items that we discovered and we’ve been big fans of for a long time already. Here we go:

Drift print magazine

As seen on their website: “Drift is about coffee, the people who drink it, and the cities they inhabit.” We absolutely love this beautifully crafted print magazine, devoted to coffee culture and covering a different city with every issue. The way the words and photos come together on its pages make it into a timeless collection-worthy item.

KeepCup reusable cups

We’ve been using the KeepCup reusable cups for years now and they’re as good as new. We really appreciate not only their design and function, but also how easily washable and durable they are. We’ve been enjoying countless walks sipping coffee from the cork edition cups, but they come in plenty of other different materials, colors and sizes.

Cupping spoon

You can’t go wrong with this one! Coffee hobbyist or quality control die-hard, this item is fun, timeless and easily customizable. For Christmas a few years ago, my wife Bianca gifted me the one by Square Mile Coffee Roasters, which to this day I still love and use all the time.

“The World Atlas of Coffee” book

This masterpiece of a book by James Hoffmann, either if it’s to keep or to give to someone dear, it will teach one so many amazing and new things about coffee! Featuring both text and beautiful photos, this atlas will take you along the captivating journey of specialty coffee from farm to cup.

Loveramics coffee cups

Featuring a wide range of catchy colors and sizes, Loveramics is one of our favorite brands when it comes to coffee cups. For a few good years now we’ve been having our espressos, cappuccinos, flat whites or filter coffee at home in the ceramic cups from their egg collection.

Orea filter coffee brewer

For those who love making filter coffee at home, the combination of the brewing funnel here with the brewer base here is definitely a favorite of mine. Durable, easy to pack and featuring a fast flow rate (meaning I can grind finer and extract more from my coffee), this filter coffee brewer makes bright and sweet brews, consistently.

Aaand, it’s a wrap! We really hope these suggestions are helpful and we wish you a lovely end to the year!
